Some cold day in February 2022, Tulsa based artists (and good friends) Lex & Tyler Sexton made the trek down to Norman and played some songs around the fire. Stripping away the lush and tasteful production of her recent project ‘NOW’ makes obvious an intimate undercurrent that flows consistently through Lex’s music, even her older material. There’s feelings of reluctant but warm vulnerability; a hesitant but raw honesty that might not immediately reveal itself; a playful curiosity sometimes overshadowed by rigid sensibility. These are some of the emotions Lex paints with dynamic tones, sweet melodies, and of course lovely accompaniment from Mr. Sexton.
